Backyard Vineyards, a division of Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits, is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic sales associates for a part time role in our tasting room. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, wine and experience in hospitality. This position is part time in nature, with the majority of available shifts occurring on weekends. Our Retail Associates are responsible for consistent and outstanding hospitality for all visitors by providing a friendly, memorable and informative visitor experience.
Job Duties will include:
Retail Sales
o Sell wine, including Wine Club memberships and related retail merchandise.
o Understand and operate POS system/cash register
o Conduct tastings and winery tours with energy and enthusiasm
o Perform store open and closing procedures
o Accurate cash handling, daily cash reconciliation
Visitor Experience
o Welcome visitors to Backyard Vineyards with sincerity and a positive attitude
o Understand the basics of wine and strive to become an ambassador of wine from British Columbia (VQA).
o Ensure retail store and winery is clean and presentable to visitors
Merchandising
o Rotation of stock
o Count monthly inventory as scheduled
And miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications:

· Dependable & punctual
· Confident & motivated
· Excellent relationship building skills / Customer Service
· Ability to lift 30-45 pounds (a case of wine)
· Serving it Right certificate
· Team player with a positive attitude who loves BC Wine
